The Public Works garage depot is located in the Industrial Park in the Town of Nackawic. The Department consists of a Supervisor and one full time personnel.
The Department is responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of the water supply and distribution system including daily checks on equipment and lines, testing as required to comply with the Safe Drinking Water Act and repairs as required. In 1999 Nackawic's water quality was recognized by the Canadian Water Resources Association as being one of the top four in the country.
The installation, operation and maintenance of the wastewater collection and treatment system includes daily checks on equipment and lines, testing as required to comply with the water quality regulations of the Clean Environment Act, and repairs as required.
Other responsibilities include maintenance of all municipal land and structures, streets and sidewalks, snow clearing, storm drains and hydrant maintenance.

Spring is here and we're all eager to renovate or start construction. All development and construction projects in Nackawic are overseen by Regional Service Commission 11 Planning and Development (RSC 11). If you have any questions regarding Nackawic Building By-Law B1 or building and development permits, call RSC 11 at 453-2956 or the Town Office at 575-2241.
Spring Clean-up will be on Friday, May 18th. Regular garbage pickup will also be on this same day. More information to follow in the coming weeks.
Recycling pick up takes place on the first Tuesday of the month. Any questions please contact the Town Office at 575-2241.
Hazardous Waste Disposal-Residents may take their household hazardous waste, ie. paint, oil, pesticides, flammable or corrosive materials to the Fredericton Solid Waste Commission,1775 Alison Blvd. 453-9938 twice a week on Wednesdays from 7:30 am until 4:00 pm and Saturdays from 7:30 am until 3:00 pm.
You can now dispose of your electronics and old paint (paint has to have the labels attached and no leakage)at Brooks Redemption Centre at 496 Campbell Settlement Rd. Phone # 506-575-8136 - Hours of operation are Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturdays 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. CLOSED on Monday and Tuesday.
